The Full Time Football & Education Academy really helped me not only as a player but academically as well.  It opened up the pathway for me to go and study and play full time in America.  The main reason I joined the Academy was to get professional coaching on a regular basis.  Along with what I was doing at my club (Glentoran F.C) this was equivalent to a Full Time Professional Footballer.

I enjoy coming into the Scholarship Programme every day.  We are always learning new things whether this in the Classroom or out on the pitch. I really believe the extra training and gym work I do during the day has helped me progress at my club Linfield F.C and also with Northern Ireland.I hope to make a full time career in football, but if I don’t at least I will have the qualficiations to go on to University.

The Full Time Football & Education Academy was brilliant.  It really gave me the passion to try to make it as a professional footballer.  Going into an environment where we were training everyday made me realise this is what I wanted to do. The teachers and coaches were great and treated us like adults and young professionals and inspiring us to be the best we could be.

Its great coming in everyday as you know you are going to be out on pitch or in the gym trying to make yourself a better player. Even when you are injured there are all the facilities like the swimming pool, gym etc to help you get back to fitness.

I have really enjoyed my time at the NIFL Scholarship Programme, both as a player and academically, the course has given me the knowledge and qualifications for me to get an offer at the University of my choice.  The wide range of topics we study I feel has prepared me really well to undertake a course at Undergraduate level and hopefully achieve a good career in the Sports Industry.
